 State of Scams in Brazil Cover EnglishThis study of 1,170 Brazilian adults shows that scam exposure is widespread, with 81% of participants encountering a scam in the past year. While 42% say they are confident in recognizing scams, 39% still interacted with a scammer (56% of those exposed). Ultimately, 10% experienced financial or data loss, with only 4% reporting the incident to authorities. Among victims, the impact extends well beyond financial harm, with 76% reporting effects on their mental wellbeing and 34% experiencing repeat scams.
