Global Anti-Scam Summit America 2026: Highlights, Insights and Resources

The Global Anti-Scam Summit America 2026 brought together more than 1,300 participants in person and virtually on 2–3 September at Pier 48 in San Francisco.

Under the theme Where Innovation Meets Action, the Summit brought together leaders from government, law enforcement, financial services, technology, telecoms, cybersecurity, consumer protection and civil society.

Across two days, discussions examined the scale and changing nature of scams, their human impact, the growing role of artificial intelligence, cross-border enforcement, intelligence sharing and the practical steps organizations can take to prevent and disrupt scam activity.

Explore the Summit's key highlights and insights, browse photos from San Francisco, read the full Summit summary, revisit Main Stage sessions on video, access audio and transcripts from the Breakout Sessions, and view presentation slides.

Key Takeaways From San Francisco

The Summit opened with findings from GASA's State of Scams in the United States of America 2026, based on a study of 3,110 U.S. adults.

The research found that 82% encountered a scam in the past year, 43% interacted with a scammer and 9% experienced financial or data loss, while only 4% reported the incident to authorities.

Across two days of keynotes, panels, fireside chats and working sessions, discussions explored the human consequences of scams, the organized networks and infrastructure enabling fraud at scale, and the growing role of AI in both scam activity and prevention.

A consistent priority was the need for stronger coordination across sectors and borders, connecting intelligence, technology, enforcement and consumer protection to move from individual interventions toward more effective prevention and disruption.

From Insights to Action

The Summit also created opportunities to translate these discussions into stronger cross-regional and international cooperation.

The invite-only Fighting Fraud Without Borders roundtable brought together participants from Latin America and North America to examine barriers to cross-regional cooperation against scams and identify opportunities for stronger coordination.

International cooperation was also strengthened through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between GASA and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) during the Summit, supporting closer cooperation in the global response to organized fraud.

Building on a Global Conversation

Next Stop: Bangkok

The global Summit program continues in Bangkok on 10–11 November with the Global Anti-Scam Summit Asia 2026.

Under the theme Asia's Leadership Against Scams, the Summit will bring together leaders from across the region and beyond to examine financial infrastructure disruption, national anti-scam ecosystems, secure-by-design and AI defenses, the role of telecom providers on the front line and opportunities for deeper cross-sector collaboration.

Building on the discussions in Lisbon and San Francisco, Bangkok will provide the next opportunity to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and advance practical approaches to scam prevention and disruption across Asia and globally.
