In the State of Scams in Vietnam 2023 report, 1,063 voices from Vietnam, predominantly women in the 25–34 age group with a university education, contributed their experiences to a study by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) and Chongluadao, painting a complex scam landscape. Each account, each lost euro, built up to a staggering figure of 391.8 trillion VND (US$16.23 billion), or 3.6% of the nation's GDP.
