In a comprehensive survey of the Swedish people, conducted by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) and Stöldskyddsföreningen (SSF), 2,478 participants shared their experiences with scams over the last year. An alarming exposition of the state of scams unfolds, revealing a layered picture of confidence, vulnerability, and significant financial and emotional impact. The average amount lost amounted to 29,810kr (US$2,557), cumulating to an overwhelming total of 30.8 billion Krona (US$2.65 billion), or 0.4% of Sweden’s GDP.
