The latest edition of GASA North America ’s “Anatomy of a Scam” meetup took a deep dive into tech support scams, one of today’s fastest-growing fraud threats.
Hosted by Chapter Lead Ayelet Biger-Levin , the session brought together voices from Seraph Secure, The Media Trust, TeamViewer, Gen Digital, and the Stop Scams Alliance.
The discussion explored how criminals lure victims through fake pop-ups, spoofed calls, and malicious ads, before using remote access software and psychological manipulation to steal money and data. Real-world stories highlighted the devastating impact on victims, while experts outlined prevention strategies, detection measures, and the urgent need for greater industry collaboration.
