Robert Duncan, Vice President of Product Strategy at Netcraft, delivered an engaging keynote exploring innovative methods to combat scams. His presentation, titled Scamming the Scammer, showcased how generative AI and proactive strategies are being used to disrupt organized crime networks and dismantle scam infrastructure.
Duncan highlighted the lifecycle of conversational scams, such as “Hi Mom, Hi Dad” messages and romance scams, emphasizing how these scams operate in private spaces. He introduced Netcraft’s use of AI-driven bots to engage scammers, gather actionable intelligence, and uncover a global network of mule infrastructure spanning 73 countries and 630 financial institutions.
